Approach Towards Biochip Technology

BioChip

Biochip a set of microarrays that allows many experiments to be executed at the same time to obtain high through put in minimum time. This device contain millions of sensors elements or biosensors. It is the most exciting future technology  in the field of computer science, electronics and biology. It is a new type of biochips promises to bring genomics. These chips are fast rate ,miniaturized, and can be expected to advantageous as a computer chip.

COMPONENTS OF BIOCHIP

  1. Transponder:-  Transponder means it does not contain any of its own energy or battery ,it activates it by giving it a low electrical charge. It consists of further four parts antenna coil, computer microchip, glass capsule, and a tuning capacitor.
  2. Reader:- It is made up of a coil named exciter which forms an electromagnetic field through radio signals. It offers an activated energy to the biochip.

TYPES OF BIOCHIP

  1. DNA Microarray:-  It is also known as DNA Biochip, a set of tiny DNA spots fixed to  strong surface. Every DNA mark is made up of probes. These can be a short segment of a genetic material under high rigidity situations.
  2. Microfluidic chip:-  These chips are becoming more complex by using 1000s of components, but those components are designed physically called as bottom –up  full custom plan, a very large workplace.
  3. Protein Microarray:- It is used to follow the actions as well as connections. The first methodology of protein chips which was introduced in antibody microarrays of scientific publication in the year 1983.

ADVANTAGES OF BIOCHIPS

  • Use to rescue the sick.
  • Biochips are useful in finding the lost people.
  • Biochips can be used to identity the persons individually

DISADVANTAGES OF BIOCHIP

  • These are expensive.
  • These are dangerous problem of individual privacy.
  • These can be fixed into human body without their interference.
